I am coming to OE to discuss the importance of copyright limitations to scholars and creators of OERs. Every country has limitations to copyright that give authors the ability to access and utilize "closed" works to create new works - such as open texts. However, the way that one's country's copyright law has been drafted greatly impacts what one can legally do.

Very brief professional info: I manage the economics side of interdisciplinary research on copyright laws at American University's law school, and I teach economics.
